Thanks for the instructions, we've followed them carefully. We've got a bit stuck though where after replacing the carpet and letting the ragtop close, it doesn't fully close. The hook/pin that should lock it is stuck in a closed position so the ragtop cannot click shut. It's a bit hard to explain but any ideas for this? I also took it to the Renault garage near us and they charged me 200 euros after having the car 6 days to tell me that it's broken and a new mechanism will cost 3000 euros! I would love to fix it and take it back to them to get my money refunded. Please help!!

Hi there, same problem, my partner at the time turned off the eninge as the roof was going down, now when i try to get the roof down it just beeps. I also get the bleeps everytime i turn my engine on too. I have followed the online instructions as close as possible and i have located the whole thing, screws Etc but i'm not really sure what i'm supposed to be doing after this, can anyone provide specific instructions? should the car be turned on? should i turn on the hydraulics again after unscrewing everything..? i would really like your help as its been 2 years now and i would love my roof to work! please please help,

thanks in advance
Thank you so much for the info on this topic.
I just bought a mint 51 plate Meganne Dynamique bargain coz the roof didn't work.
I'm new to this forum and the help has been invaluable.:d
Thanks to you and the information you supplied. It works like a dream now.
Though the cover release sticks occasionally stopping micro switches operating correctly, only new spring required.
Thanks again

I had a whole range of issues with the electric roof, most of which have been described in this thread! I got through two of the large scissor=shaped mechanisms that are something to do with the roof opening mechanism; got these from scrap merchants and each time they only worked for a short time. I also had the stuck roof and beeping issue; each fix by my electrician cost £50, and after a few of those only lasting 3 weeks or so, I set the whole thing on manual and gave up on the electric motor. It's easy to bring down for one person, but you really need two people to raise it manually without putting too much pressure on one side or the other when lifting as it's fairly heavy.

Hi All
Help needed!
When closing the roof, I inadvertently switched off the ignition and everything stopped.
Ive managed to lower the roof and now cant get it to raise - just the warning beeps.
Ive tried to open the hood cover pulling down and across using the release strap but the cover stays shut.
Ive unscrewed the hydraulic release valve to apparently reduce the hydraulic pressure and it makes no difference.
Any suggestions?
Fortunately the weather is good here in Cape Town...

Hi Julian
I inadvertently switched off the ignition while closing the roof and everything just stopped. Ive managed to lower the roof completely but cant raise it - just some clicking and a warning beep. I can open the hood cover either - the strap pull desnt appear to work. Any ideas?

Hi All
I stupidly switched off the ignition while lowering the roof after the hood lid had raised and the hood was partially down. Hood cover descends on the motionless hood!
Pressing the switch causes the usual beeps and nothing happens.
Having done this before (yes, stupidly) and dismantled the latching mechanism after pulling the release down and relieving the pressure on the hydraulic pump, I thought there might be an easier way.
Without touching the release strap or the pressure release wheel on the pump, I used a broom handle to fully open the hood cover while sitting in the drivers seat and with the other hand, operate the hood switch with the ignition on. Pushing the switch to 'close' position the hood started working normally again! Phew! Just don't do it again.

Does anyone have images of how to reset the roof motor or video? i have the same problem on my 51 plate and unable to locate the manual release for boot cover in the boot. Mine does not seem to have one. I have the IDE engine version of the car.

can anyone recommend a garage or mechanic in the south east of england who can do this reset process. I have tried and not able to get it to work. I get 3 beeps when I press the roof button and not able to find out what those beeps mean.
