Hi folks, i have a 2005 trafic and drove over 300 faultlessish miles yesterday gone to start it today and im getting blue/black/grey smoke and almost a misfire, no warning lights on the dash but when i plug my Launch obd reader in i get:
DF001 Water Temp Sensor Circuit, open or short circuit +12v
DF002 Air Temp Sensor Circuit, open or short circuit +12v
DF056 Air Flow Sensor Circuit, open or short circuit to earth
DF056 Air Flow Sensor Circuit, open or short circuit to earth (not a typo same faukt appears twice!)
DF186 Preheater Plugs Circuit, Heater plugs faulty or in open circuit

I clear these and the come straight back, so is there a common feed or common earth to these sensors or all on the same circuit? Im more likely to stab myself with the prongs or the multireader than manage to use it correctly.

Had a quick look at the blue plug in the engine bay and cannot see and corrosion or broken/pinched wires nor near the plugs.

Now yesterday lunchtime i had the van idling to get some heat into the van while we ate lunch and it idled for a few minutes then cut out, wouldnt restart so primed up the diesel using the bulb and it was fine the 160 miles home apart from i had no temperature showing on the gauge and today when stone cold its showing 6 bars of heat.....

Please help.

Thanks

Mike

WOW is the loom able to move/vibrate that much then

well done
Oh having another look at that picture over the gearbox area again,

dont know what it is about that part of the loom on these traffics but loads of issues with that area
just have a look at the wiring going to injectors now you are there

I did 2 injectors on the van last month, they twisted and slid out!! So checked all wiring while there

that will be your blue smoke going greyish
take the air filter hose off the turbo mouth
Clean the turbo mouth
now push hose back on, dont bother putting clip back to hold hose on
start the engine rev to 2000 rpm for around 15 seconds
switch off wait about a minute, pull the hose back off, see if the mouth is full of oil again
only need to LOOK
if yes think about changing turbo cartridge
Also check intercooler is not full of oil
The hard start could still be a leaking injector after being left for a few days and fuel is flowing back out of injector pump
