Clio III, it's still on the original Michelins, (too many years!) but lots of tread as the car has done very low mileage.
Due to a combination of age, the rubber drying out, UV damage, and the final straw being very long periods of standing (weeks at a time) during the lockdown, obvious cracks have now appeared on two of the tyres, and very much less obvious on the other two.
The cracks have only appeared in the last year. From what I've read cracks are less likely if the car is driven regularly, perhaps the rubber molecules make friends with each other as the tyre flexes?
anyway...
If you examine the cracks although they look bad the depth is very shallow. (The cracks visually look worse than they are the depth is just less than 1mm at the worst points (circled) and much less than 1mm everywhere else.
A couple of questions as I'm not too inclined to replace the tyres at well over £100 a tyre for Michelins (or £65 if I buy cheap ones) if I don't have to.
At what point would they fail an mot?

Has anyone ever tried tyre adhesive filler (yes you can buy it) to "mend" the cracks.
Interestingly an online search seems to throw up quite a few posts saying Michelins are prone to cracking, perhaps there are just more of them around...
