First time poster - any help appreciated although I imagine this is a garage job. Have scoured the internet but not found anyone else dim witted enough to do what I did! I've got a 2013 Scenic Xmod.
The rear passenger door wasn't shutting properly. So I realised the door striker plate / catch (on the car bodywork not on the door) was loose. Looking underneath, the adhesive type 'paper' stuff underneath was in a right mess, so I thought, "I'll investigate further". In doing so, I removed the door catch on the bodywork (pillar?), only to have the inner backplate (that the door striker was attached to from behind the bodywork) fall down into the bodywork / frame of the car. Agggh!
I've tried to go 'fishing' into the bodywork with a net curtain rail with a hook on the end. I've also removed the plastic trim in and around the door but cannot really access the area where the lock 'plate' has fallen into. That area is effectively the bodywork that you step over to sit into the car! I've also tried the magnet thing but may need to get some telescopic thing but suspect it won't quite be long enough.
Anyone have any ideas of getting it back? Images below to show what I mean. Thank you, although I imagine it needs to be stripped at a garage to find and then re-fit the backplate. Thanks!
