Hi, if you are sure the barrel is only on drivers door then it won,t open as there is not fitting on the catch for the lock,it,s only on n/s door, looks like someone has swapped them over, the only option is to jack up car remove under tray and using a boost pack connect earth clamp to car earth and positive clap to back of alternator and at same time press unlock button on keyfob and car should unlock, when opened swap the lock barrel around.

 

How odd, I wonder why someone would have swapped the barrel round to the drivers door?

Martink, thanks for your reply, but do you know a way to open the bonnet. I've removed the front grills and would like to know how to access the bonnet lever. If I get the bonnet open , I could then charge up the battery and maybe open the the door with the keyfob.

 

You'd be better off going from under the car. If you can see the bonnet catch look for where the cable goes to, unless they made that electronic too. Push the thing the cable is connected to in either direction.

If that fails how attached are you to your windows?

For reference for anyone who searches this thread: I had the same problem over xmas.

If you can get your hands on a jack, a long screwdriver and a socket set; don't do anything rash with a brick.

I jacked the car up (just one side at the front was enough) using a borrowed jack (of course, cause the other one was locked in the boot).

Then it was just 5 bolts to remove the undertray - though it takes a bit of pulling and bending to get it free.

Once I'd done that it was easy to reach the bonnet release which is just behind the radiator in the centre. You will see the cable coming from the passenger side so you have to use the screwdriver to lever in that direction (towards the passenger side).

This will pop the bonnet enough for you to then get the secondary release through the grill, get the battery and charge it or jump start.
