Hi you can see them but trying to get them out is a different story

You will need 3 hands and a swear box at your side i know i done mine recently

I used a 1/4 drive ratchet set and it was still hard to get the angle right but it can be done

Thanks for the advice. I was wondering if I'd have to remove the exhaust (?) manifold on top first and, if so, whether you had any tips on that. It's a real pain that there are no Haynes manuals for it.

 

It is the inlet manifold not exhaust but this is the very item that makes it so difficult !

You could indeed remove the manifold but this is not as easy as it sounds the biggest problem removing the manifold is the egr valve and pipe at the back of it as you cannot see what you are doing

Problem in the espace is even with all the bolts out you cannot get the manifold out as it hits the bulkhead so you then have to loosen the engine mounts to get it out
