Potential abs module issue

Since I have had my car the brake pedal has not felt the best, but recently my abs triggered, first time since driving the car and my pedal hit the floor, I could still feel it trying to do abs things (pedal pushing back a little) but the car didn’t stop, I have now don’t 1 brake inspection (front tyres 3mm/ new pads and discs all round advised)
Nothing else of note, replaced the tyres, did brakes all round, brake bleed, pedal felt ok for a few days, now back to bad feeling pedal, and had the abs trigger and same thing happen, feels like the car isn’t trying to stop, doesn’t seem like there is a leak, pedal holds with engine off, pedal feels stiff with engine on until you really press, then it will bottom out but when you release and press again you can hear air escaping (brake booster I assume)
I just want a pointer that it’s the abs before getting mine off and sending for refurb

HI, I just bought a 2019 Kangoo, it has the same problem, it's had the brakes blead twice, once by hand and foot method and the second time with a pressure machine. Brakes work fine when I leave the garage, but after sitting overnight it's the same problem. If I push too hard on the brake pedal the brakes grab, so I'm thinking it's a master cylinder plunger cup or O-ring (whatever this car has) that is worn out and allowing the fluid to leak through.

You guys need to take a step back and get a "proper" mechanic to do a "proper" brake system service - as in changing all of the fluid and then follow the built-in brake and ABS bleed procedures using a Renault-speaking scanner.

Air trapped in the ABS valve block will/can kill you and is not detectable by any brake testing station using a simple "rolling-road" test method.

Do not waste money replacing the ABS block

Please explain to me what you are talking about, this is my second Kangoo, the first was a service vehicle provided by my employer bought brand new, so any problems it was sent to the dealership.
I've rebuilt a lot of engines and transmissions, both automatic and manual, to finance my drag racing habit, but this new "fangled" stuff is a mystery to me.

The ABS system consists of a valve block with lots of hidden and normally unused passages and offcourse the electronic bits to drive the valves sitting on top of that.

No matter what you do, if you are old school like me, the normal method of bleeding brakes will NEVER ensure that those hidden passeges get either filled or bled ........................ and thus the first time you use/need the ABS block a bunch of air is released into the system.

There is a set procedure using the electronic valve actuators in a pre-set sequence to ensure that no trapped air is present in the valve block.

I would say try it first.
I was able to bleed my second-hand ABS pump but it took a lot of fluid (most of a litre) to get rid of the bubbles. Shortly afterwards the car passed the MoT, which is good enough for me.
Admittedly the ABS hasn't been engaged since, but I don't think we've ever braked hard enough for that.

Thanks for the info! So, what you're saying is it must go to Renault who is the only one that has the equipment to bleed it correctly, I'm gona hafta win the Lotto to afford that.
With the Kangoo service vehicle it cost 12,300XPF to to tell us what was wrong.
Thanks again
