Hi folks,

I’m looking for some help/advice with the issue I’m having. I’ve been having problems with my van for at least a year now. It’s been back and forth to an independent garage and the dealer numerous times.

I’ve had two warning lights ‘check injection’ & ‘check anti pollution system’ come up and then ‘engine failure hazard’ and van goes in to limp mode. Taken to dealer who advised DPF was blocked and forced a regen and cleared filter. Van was driving ok for about 3/4 months, and then the same thing happened. It was back in to the dealer for a forced regen and got it back running ok. But they had mentioned that the DPF may need taken out to be cleaned/replaced if it kept on happening. Sure enough the warning lights came back on and I decided to put it in to an independent garage, who tried replacing sensor (a DPF pressure sensor I believe) and done something to the Adblue injector to try and fix the issue, but ultimately the DPF had to be taken out for cleaning. I got the van back and it ran great for about 3/4 weeks and then the same warning lights came back on and I was essentially back to square one. The independent garage eventually said they were pretty much stumped/ran out of ideas and to take it back to dealer.
The dealer have now said the DPF needs replaced as when they looked at the DPF they said they could see some paint on it from when it’s been cleaned, and that should have burnt off when the van carried out a regen. I am currently waiting on a DPF arriving, but my van is driving horrendously, so I took it back to the independent garage to see if they could force a regen to try and get it running a bit better while I’m waiting. The mechanic tried but said the regen kept failing, and that he couldn’t clear a value off of one of the sensors which is showing 62.5g of soot, and told me that the van should regen when that value is at 4g. He thinks that this sensor could be faulty and not allowing the van to regen, and said he would be wary of replacing the DPF as the problem might not be with the DPF itself.
Sorry if the info I’ve given isn’t very clear, I don’t have the first clue about all this and trying relay the information I’m getting as best I can.
Any help or points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
