Hi all and thanks to all for the advice i've gleaned on here already!
I recently bought an 03 kangoo with a k9k engine and 86k on it, for 350 miles it was faultless, started first time every time and gave 50mpg. I then noticed when revving above 3000rpm the EML/warning lights would come on until the revs dropped then go out, so i came to the forum for a good read up and thought i would start with cleaning the EGR and a new fuel filter. The EGR was straight forward enough but bleeding the fuel system after the filter change was a real pig, the primer bulb was useless so that was changed to a new rubber one which enabled me to fill the filter but i still had a lot of air in the system between filter and pump meaning it would only start with easy start. Unfortunately i had to use the car for a family emergency and travelled about 50 miles in it that day with the EML/warning lights coming on more and more often on the way back and severe power loss which i still thought was down to excessive air in the fuel.
The next day i managed with some advice from this forum to expel all the air from the fuel lines and was hoping i would have my reliable little Runner back but still it refused to start unaided.
Next i borrowed a snap on scanner to check for anything obvious (I have some mechanical experience with the diesels from the ark,Lol!) but when it comes to electrics or deciphering the results from the scanner i'm lost!
Anyway it came back with fault DF137 RAIL PRESSURE REGULATOR LOW FLOW CURRENT ABOVE MAXIMUM which seems to be one of the few questions i can't find an answer to on here??
I removed the fuel pressure regulator and checked its operation and resistance and both were fine, i then checked the feed to it, and across the two pins in the plug the meter only came up with 10.2v but when earthed at the battery it read 12.3v?
Next i checked the feed to the fuel pressure sensor as advised by Mickeybo, here i have 5.02v on one side and 5.04v which i know is not right! I checked for damaged wires at both ends but nothing found.
I looked at the data the next time i used the scanner and at cranking i was only getting 170bar which i don't think is enough? I also noticed that the data was showing no volts at the fuel pressure sensor with the ignition on?
My Questions: 1. Where can i find info on ecu pin positions?
2. Any info on what the DF137 fault refers to?
3.Info on what live data should be seen with ign on and when running
4.Is it possible i've damaged the pump running it with air in the system?
5.why does the data show no volts at sensor with ign on?
6. What should i check next?
Theres little money to throw at the many parts it COULD be and as it ran fine before i'm Praying it's something simple that i missed or haven't tested properly as the reading on here gives me Night terrors!!!
Thanks to All in advance for any advice offered.
