2006 Scenic fault codes.

My father's trusty 2006 58k 1.5 Scenic has started to develop a problem of while traveling an Alarm going off and STOP illuminating on the dash.
The Alarm and the warning go off after about 5 seconds but he has had it scanned for codes which are ;. DCT 087DB and DTC 008944 which apparently point to the Fuel control valve ... Is that correct ?
I've read a few threads on the net about people changing the valve only for the problem to reappear shortly after and I don't want him throwing money at replacing parts which don't need to be.
Any help would be gratefully received

The codes come from a mechanic my father uses ...
He usually works on the car and Is pretty good and yesterday he took it for a pre mot check and then for an Mot which it passes with flying colours.
So while he had the car he scanned it for codes and this is what came up, I don't know what scanning tool he used though ...

Is the fuel system pressurised ?
Does it have just the 1 fuel pump .... ?
Some of the fuel system is pressurised...to very high pressures.
The rest of it sucks....ie suction ppulls fuel out of the tank to the HP pump.
And yes, just a single pump in that car/engine

I still cannot track down specifics for those codes but would like to see summat more before paying anyone £266.26 of my hard earned.
The fuel pressure regulator (SCR) may not be giving the response that the system expects, often from lower then expected pressures at the rail pressure sensor.
Which may be SCR as they say but could also be things like blocked fuel filter, leaky injector, leaky fuel feed, failing fuel pressure sensor, dirty connections......so I would like to see the data that has led them to the conclusion that the SCR is faulty.
And an explanation for the labour cost.... at an independent that is 3 hours work at least, 2 hours at a Dealer with their higher rates..... I reckon I could swap out an SCR on the Denso pump I think you have in half an hour.... ten minutes of that drinking tea.

Cars still the same..
Its been driving ok so have just lived with it but recently its been coming up with Injector fault and the alarm on the dash has been going off when hard acceleration.
Its also been cutting.out on the first journey of the day usually a quarter of a mile from home but then its fine.for the rest of the day so i had a diagnostic which flagged up number 2 injector so swapped that for a reconditioned injector but still the same so another diagnostic came up with number 1 and 2 injectors and fuel rail sensor.
The fuel rail sensor was changed last year so bought another 3 reconditioned injectors and got them coded and then i came up with Dtc008965 Fuel pressure regulation at maximum pressure and still has injector fault.on start up.and the alarm going off even with these different injectors .
My.next plan is.to change the sensor/regulator on the fuel pump and then after that i havent a clue
