Coolant light comes on and car goes into limp mode.

Hi, I have a Laguna 1.6 16v 51 reg. My God, never again. It's bloody dangerous!
First, a few months a go, the engine management light came on along with what I am told is the coolant light, the car went into a "limp mode". In said limp mode the revs bounce around 2grand, accelerator has no affect, can "limp" home driving just using the clutch. This was sporadic and went away a few days later, however the engine management light remained. Weeks later the engine management light went away too. A few days later the coolant light is back, and so is the limp mode, again sporadically. Odd thing is that it always seems fine in the morning, starts and drives normally, but if I leave it for anything less than the entire night, 10 minutes, 3 hours, whatever, the light comes on and I'm limping - but only for a bit. After about 20 starts (into limp mode straight away) and stops of the engine, all is good, it starts normally and I'm away! Sometimes the car just cuts out when I'm coming to a stop, VERY dangerous as I lose the power steering! It is maybe worth noting that I filled up at the same station as my girlfriend (Clio), and we both found the same thing - although her's went away completely after the first couple of days. I read something about water in the tank maybe causing it, so maybe the station? Maybe a co-incidence though. Please somebody help as I always get completely ripped off if I even go near a garage! Thanks, Ric.

I've had a diagnostic done!

Hi all, thanks for all the feedback, and so quickly too!
I rang Renault and it seems my car DID have the reprogramming done for the recall mentioned earlier in this thread....
Anyway, I am fortunate enough to have a friend that works at a garage, so he did a diag on my car for free! It turned up 3 things:
------------------------------------------------------------
DF336 - Flywheel Signal Information - 2.DEF
DF413 - Motorised Throttle - 8.DEF
DF301 - Inlet Air Circuit - 1.OBD
------------------------------------------------------------
My friend says that the big problem is the Motorised Throttle error. The bit on the next page of the report against the "8 DEF" bit says, "Motorised throttle servo control fault". However, he also said that the two parts that could be faultly are working within acceptable limits, so he thinks it is a wiring problem. He says that finding the problem wire(s) could take hours and hours, so would get pretty costly very quickly.

Has anybody seen anything like this before? I'm not convinced that it is wiring as it seems to behave better when there is more fuel in it!! I have the full report to hand so if anybody has any ideas or questions then please come back to me.
