The reinitialising of the adaptives command wont look for anything no but with CLIP (this is my only experience btw as an Alliance CLIP user) you have to go thru the network and fault tests before you can get to the configuration area of the software so you'd know of any issues prior to trying. For the auto on it doesn't use any pedal input. It detects the engine speed signal drop to zero and the after ignition + feed drops (it switches to the timed + ignition feed) so it activates the unit if the user hasn't already done so.

You may want to have a look at the main loom connections and EPB relays especially if you've been having issues with water.

They live under the passenger seat behind the storage bin in the subterranean area of the floor (keep meaning to get the blog updated on my website for this one)

We had one in recently which needed an EPB according to the local main agent. On further inspection (by us) the wiring was shot as it had been sat in 4 inches of standing water and corroded everything so a new cabin and dash loom were really needed. The customer agreed but couldn't afford to spend £1600 so he asked me to cut and shut a new loom from a doner vehicle in to his which worked... horrible job to do though. Strangely enough the EPB was fine!

It's a position sensor that simply says "in a gear" or "in neutral". Test it by trying to start the car in a gear with the brake pedal pressed rather than the clutch... IIRC it won't allow you to start it.

Ignore DF025 - as above, that has possibly been caused by someone rotating the wheels whilst on a ramp.

The other two are interesting though. DF048 suggests a fault with one of the three microswitches inside the release handle (CLIP would tell you the status of each of these via live data) but with the addition of DF036 seems to suggest a poor connection somewhere.

Have you had any problems with water ingress into the cabin/floor subterranean area?
