Had exact same fault on my Espace IV when I brought it a few weeks ago.

The clutch position switch was hanging down next to the pedal I clipped it back onto the pedal making sure the lever engaged with the t1t on the pedal and all worked exactly as it should with no problems since so I would say the lever not moving on your switch is highly likely to be the fault.

Only prob with mine now is the P in the triangle warning light is stuck on and my elm code reader wont turn it off so I need to find someone with can clip I can borrow for 5 mins.
