Kangoo 1.5 Dci- engine removal

Hi Experts
A bit of a jam!
My Kangoo 1.5Dci con rod broke smashed a hole in sump as chronicled in other posts here.
So I got a replacement engine 86000k miles for £600 inc VAT and handed it to my mate who's a great street mechanic.

However now he says he can't do it..too tricky. he thinks he needs to drop the sub frame and he just doesn't have the facilities.
I have a yard and can do this kind of thing myself (limited by time these days) but is it really that difficult to get the engine out?? I've done citroens, peugeots engines, clutches etc.
Does anyone have experience of doing an engine swap in an amateur/street mechanic scenario.

Any tips and advice warmly welcomed!

Many thanks

Re: Kangoo 1.5 Dci- engine removal & fuel pump code!!

Hi All

I have one more issue that has come up.

My replacement engine has a fuel pump already attached. Someone has told me that the immobiliser is coded to the fuel pump. Therefore with the new engine in place the car will be immobilised unless the fuel pump from the original engine is used.
Please someone help with this-is there a way around this problem does anyone know??

Many thanks

Simon
