megane 2 airbag light

Hi All,

My Megane has been playing up and the air bag light is on.

it used to be that I wiggle the cable under the seat and it was fixed . that is the driver seat .
now it is permenantly on .

I have changed the squib or stalk but issue is still there.

reading around it is mentioned , I need to take cut the cable for airbag under the seat and connect it directly and by pass the socket connection.

Do I have to do this for both driver and passenger side?

how do I identify the cable ?

Any further thoughts on what the issue can be ?

for anyone coming across this forum in the future, I managed to fix it by wiggling the cable under the passenger seat . I always thought there is only one cable which is on the driver side however there is anotherone on the passenger side.

Hi I see you have fixed your prob but I have just put out air bag light in a different way,plenty people seem to have wiring issues,such as yourself. On my diagnostic machine it came up with is seat belt pretensioner wiring,I couldn't see anything and wiggling didn't make any difference but I was pretty sure the light was brought on by sliding the seats back/forward. I noticed a stainless contact on the seat runner( seat slid forward) and realised these slid on the runner so I just pushed them as far forward as possible and when the seat was back in position the light went out without resetting etc, might help someone hopefully.

when I had this problem I called an auto spark and he took out the seat and under the carpet are two plugs, he disconnected them and cleaned thee connections then replace them. the problem is in the plugs getting dis lodged.
