Hi LvR

I hope you are well, about 4 month ago you replied to a message on a post, that I should have a scan done, I can not afford to have a scan done.
I brought the car second hand, with the battery in the car, Its a 628 and it should be a 652. The Fan has not worked since the day I got it. The battery is not that great either, that is why I was wondering if it maybe the battery thats not strong enough for the fan to run to. My Car Radio also works some days and not other day .

Please can you help

Have a Great day

I did reply to your private message yesterday too.

So this battery thing is new then - If that battery is known to be bad I would replace that first else you could/will be chasing your tail with all sorts of stupid electronic issues - have the charging system tested properly too at the same time.

Its no use saying you cannot afford a scan - read my reply to your message yesterday - the reality is you need to be methodical else you are going to spend a ton of unnecessary money anyway by guessing.

If the fan motor itself is ok then as per my reply:

1. Wiring/connectors
2. ECU

Before you do ANYTHING - you want to know for a fact that the ECU is actually issuing the FAN-ON command............... and the scanner is the only way to figure that

LVR

I asked for your advice not for you to say
"Its no use saying you cannot afford a scan .... " The Fact if I can not and that is why I am on the Forum. If I had the cash I would have gone. I asked your advice if you may think its the battery. Rather say you do not know.

As LVR has correctly pointed out, you need a scan. You are definitely going to spend more guessing what part might be broken, than a scan would cost. You can do it yourself with the free DDT4ALL software and a £20 USB elm OBD dongle
