A spanner ikon has started appearing on my display panel. There is no mention of it in the book they gave me with the car.

Obviously its not good news. But what does it mean?

I'm pretty sure it's to do with servicing if it's just the spanner on it's own. I'm not sure if they are like the citroens, but when you service them the light won't off untill it has been reset.

Usually if there is a problem, you will have a message which will also have a little spanner next to it. Usually with that you may get the 'Check Injection' warning.

Otherwise I'm not to sure, sorry.

The spanner starts flashing when the service is nearly due normally accompanied by a change oil soon message. On the scenic you can clear the spanner and message by using the buttons on the end of the wiper stalk to scroll to the message and hold the button in whilst it flashes, when it changes release the button and it should reset the service mileage (miles to service) and the spanner will magically disappear.
