It may be worth a try but if you could someone to press down on the front of the bonnet whilst you pull the lever might work - once open make sure it thecatch is well greased

Tried pulling on release whilst pushing (and pulling) on bonnet but to no avail (although I can hear something moving. So the next step I think is to try and reach it from underneath).

Try to spray some wd40 through the gap then get someone to press down on bonnet while you pull lever also with a long thin screwdriver and a cloth put the cloth around the screwdriver and gently slide it through the gap and pull up done it on my megane once and that managed to free off the bonnet.

 

That is a good idea done that on a previous motor myself, good advice be proud of yourself for solving someone else's problem Big pat on the back for you.

Hi,
WD40 + pushing on bonnet, and the gentle use of a thin screwdriver managed to open catch. Now have lubricated the catch with wd40 and grease and is working great. Thanks again.

Is there a workshop manual for the Modus? I've searched the internet, but can't seem to find one. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place.

I e-mailed Haynes workshop manuals and asked them if they did one for the Modus and they said they don`t produce one and no plans to publish one in the foreseeable future.I haven`t seen a manual for the Modus looks like there might not be one at all.Hope this helps.
