Hi all I have a 2006 1.9 dci dynamique 5 door and yesterday the boot just decided to stop opening, when I press the release button nothing happens no motor noise of any sort. I have read that I can open from inside but can anyone give me an idea as to how to fix? Thanks for any help

hi you say .9 dynamic but what model Megane, laguna, clio ? so I can only generalise a solution. The most common fault are the wires where they enter the tailgate from the top left hand corner, the wires inside the rubber tube are known to break after the boot is opened so many times. Check for broken wires and if found re join using connectors.

You can unlock your boot, by dropping the two rear seats, armed with a small screwdriver climb into the back, you will need a torch, on the boot lock you should find a white plastic pin,(sometime this is accessed through a hole on the lock housing) if you gently push the pin over to the other side the lock should release!

Push solenoid (whitehead) tap inside the (black) solenoid and try few times activate with key.

Solenoid is usually black box which has white headed rubber covered white tap.

If it attemps to move or moves then lubricate tap with ptf lock or gun oil. Before that you must pull rubber a bit off solenoid motor side. Run few times and then lubircate again.

This was my solution.

Sounds like you mechanism isn't releasing. Also check the wiring, especially in the boot release switch, to see if there is any corrosion. may be that the switch is broken. It happened with my megane. I bought a new switch (easy to change) and I had a working boot again. :)
