Our Renault Master van (2.5lt diesel reg 04) recently developed a problem where the battery kept going flat. Originally thought the battery was old so bought new one. New battery was drained overnight too! Did some tests on the fuses and found that when one fuse was taken out the residual power reading dropped from 7 to 0.2 so presume that this fuse is causing the problem. Can't work out what the fuse is for. Have left the fuse out and tried all the obvious equipment and everything seems to work. No warning lights are coming on on the dash either.

It's in the engine compartment, as you stand and look at the engine it's the first fuse on the left hand side - 70a orange coloured. Does anybody know what this is for as we have no illustrations in the handbook to these fuses.

It's only a wild guess, but 70A is quite hefty. Did the van at any time have a twin battery set up and has someone changed it to a single engine battery?
