hi guys,
i have had an issue crop up with my car and there are so many answer for it for so many different things, just wondered if anyone has or has had the same problems.
car-
renault megane, 1.6 VVT petrol.
it started a few days ago when i went to the petrol station to fill up and decided to buy some injector cleaner. i put some in with about £20 worth of fuel (think i added a bit too much) set off on my journey and everything was all happy and dandy. a day later i was driving down a car parking lot and suddenly the 'check injection' light came on. so i pulled over and turned the engine off. (first thought was that maybe due to 1) injector fuel cleaner 2) the ramp i drove down, this may have dislodged something) once restarted the engine was fine again.
now the problem is worse. i can set off and drive quite a distance and everything will be fine, but if i sit in traffic or turn the engine of the car starts again with the check injection. furthermore the toxic gases light has come on with it.
am i right to be thinking that maybe i have an intermittent fault with an injector and that every time the fault happens the injector could be pushing too much un-burnt fuel through the car in to the cat causing the toxic fuel light and the check injection message.... or could it be the sparkplug?
or maybe something else.....
any help would truely be grateful!
Edd
