How to reset service indicator

Hi I'm new on the block, can anybody tell me how to reset the service indicator on the dash on a 2002 Laguna II 1.9 dci.

Yep..

Press the button on the end of the right hand stalk to scroll through the trip computer screen.
You will come across the one that shows a spanner in the bottom left corner, this is the "time to service".

When you have selected the "time to service" screen, press and HOLD the black button on the intrument panel.. It will start to flash after a few seconds, keep the button pressed until 18000 appears and flashes..
Then release the button before the 18000 stops flashing.

The screen will now show 18000. (18000miles till next service), Job Done..

Hi Andee, sorry to disapoit you matie but the oly wat to get the light off is at a dealer or a really clued up machine at a good garage. This is naught of renault to fit these software only service light procedure, if not illegal? ...Regards John Technocar.co.uk

Are you holding the button until the 18,000 stops flashing? A lot of people let go of the button as soon as the display shows 18,000. If you don't keep on holding the button until the number stops flashing, it won't reset the interval.

the 18,000 dont even show up matey....

the info screen just shows change oil soon...!
and as i've said, it has been changed.
the other thing is that there is the SERVICE spanner symbol flashing in the bottom right of the screen too.
i've tried holding the button for ages on each screen but i'm having no luck at all...

THANKS SO MUCH FOR EVERYONES HELP!!:)

If you put in the search box "service light reset" there are many threads on the subject.

Just out of interest...how would you extinguish the service light on a '96 Laguna after a service (not done by Renault)? It's something that has been in the back of my mind since getting the car. The service light hasn't yet lit as I've only had the car for 5 months so it isn't due one but would be interested to know.

the button referred to is on the end of the wiper stalk (the one that you use to scroll through the various displays on the dash. ie mpg, trip, average mph etc).

Thanks :) I needed that. Just changed the oil on my Megane II (2003 1.6 16v Expression) and I was breaking my head on how to reset it.... it now shows, next servicepoint 30000 km .... last is a bit odd, since I should have to change my oil every 15000 km or so. Cool though, now I don't have to go to the dealer.

Can anyone confirm that the newer Renaults need the light reset using diagnostic equipment?

We have a 2005 Lag 2 ph 2 at work at the moment, and using the button on the wiper stalk just scrolls through the trip computer and not the service light which comes on on a seperate screen.......

I've tried holding the button on the stalk in,but all it's done is reset the trip computer info!..Before anyone asks,it hasn't got the button on the dash readout.:)

don't know if this has been posted yet but here goes....

Kangoo service light reset, can only be done if the car has less than 10% of miles left til the mileage service interval eg. the car has done over 16200 miles and is on a 18k service plan. if the mileage for service is not met and the annual period service is due y can reset the light.

Also the trafic 2 phase 2, service light is reset via holding the accelerator pedal and turning the ignition on and waiting 10 secs then press the brake pedal 5 times. if this does not reset the light after a few attempts then there is a known fault that renault know about in which a renault dealer will have to use a certain procedure on clip (diagnostic tool) to reset the light) if this is needed id try and argue the fact there is no need to pay labour as you tried the stated way it says in the handbook and is due to renault manufacture fault
