1997 Mk1 Laguna 1.8 RT
Hi all.
My heater blower has stopped working followed by a sparking noise and a nasty smell of burnt plastic.
Now nothing happens on any position except 4, then I can hear a relay click followed by the happy burning smell, also the dash lights dim and if the engine is running, the revs drop until I turn blower switch off.
It sounds to me like a current hungry monster is loose in the blower system.
Before I start doing crazy stuff like tearing the car apart to change the blower motor is there anything else I can check that's easier to start with?
I've read about the troublesome resistor pack etc behind the glovebox so should I start there?
If I can get this problem fixed then maybe I can get to grips with the other old chestnut, namely the rear demister not working.
