Hi guys,
So I have a renault laguna 1.9dci 2004 model
It been throwing out amounts of black smoke and hesitating on power now and again,
Iv cleaned egr and re-assembled... It has got better but not perfect... Can I just unplug the electrical plug off the egr to disable it or will I need a blanking plate??
Will disconnecting it cause a engine management light or limp mode??
Thanks guys
Any replies welcome as other than a new egr valve :p

Cheapest guess?? Lol
What do you think it is?
Symptoms as follows...
Throwing out black smoke (only under acceleration) (I'm aware diesels do but more than it should )
And also when I put my foot down (only sometimes ) the turbo won't always kick in but if I let go of accelerator and put it down again it kicks in??? Turbo is fine a it was only replaced 12 months ago.. Still kicks in just hesitant (sometimes) cleaned egr... Black smoke had reduces slightly and ran forte through it
....
And thoughts welcome what could I try??? Cheers
Still getting good mpg ( between 45-52 ) dependant on conditions

Black smoke is either a sign ot too much fuel or too little air - in your case it would seem to be the latter.

Have you checked the inlet system and intercooler for leaks?

Could be a lazy turbo actuator solenoid or faulty turbo pressure sensor or even a duff MAF sensor.

Are there evr any warning lights on the dash?
