kangoo side door wont lock/unlock via central locking

Hi guys firstly i know there are threads about this but none are of much help. my side door wont lock or unlock when using key fob or the button near the gear stick i know there is a black box with a few wires going into it wich i think is a reed switch for filler cap and side door which is located behind the pannel on L/H/R ive taken the box apart and its all corroded inside could this be my problem ? if so is there a chap easy fix ? there is a thread on reparing this but i dont understand it at all. all other doors work using key fob. thanks.

hi thanks for reply. there is about 10 wires going into it and yes that is the thread ive looked at and its one of the connectors in that pic that goes to the reed switch like i say i dont really understnd that repair guide.

So is the corrosion inside the connector plug or at the actual switch.

It will depend on which terminals are corroded as to what the problem is.

If the wiring from the plug to the locking motor has a bad connection, you can try to clean it up or as a cheap fix, you could chop the wires either side of the plug and join them. Add a bit of length to the wire if needed.

The thread said the switch is the part circled in the picture below.
That looks like it only has 2 wires.
From the description, it says that the switch is closed when the filler cap is off.
The switch opens when filler cap is replaced and the circuit is broken. This is what you need to allow door to open. Disconnecting one of the wires from the switch should achieve the same end.

Try that and see what happens. You can always reconnect later if it's not the problem.

yea i know what u mean and ive tried that but no had no luck if you follw the two wires to the connetor block wich has a few wires going to it well that plugs into the black box (the one in pic) ive taken the box apart and has corroded a few components.
