I have a 2.0 petrol Laguna Dynamique. When I accelerate it pulls away slowly. The engine makes all the noises of accelerating and sounds like it want to go faster but the power seems to be missing. When up to speed it runs great. It doesn't judder and it runs smoothly but poor acceleration. Any ideas?

SO, you have had a clutch slip on a car, and know what it feels like.
As the symptoms you describe sounds like a clutch issue.
The car revs up, but slow to move, as at low/gear,, speed, this is when the clutch does the most work.
But at higher speed ,, (the gearbox ratio,) does not need as much clutch friction.
Only analogy I can think of.
Your pushbike, when you were a lad.. the higher the gear, the less peddling

Can you try this,, hopefully your car has a rev counter.
Drive your car, go through the gears, but when you get to 3rd gear, hit your accelerator hard, if a clutch problem, your rev counter will shoot up, but your car will hardly go any faster, then release the accelerator, and apply gas slowly,, see if your car will start to respond again..
