Squirting some carb cleaner round the injector and letting it soak may help not a clue on the clamps.

 

ive sussed the clamp thing now, i was looking at the wrong bit, duh!

only thing is now, the car wont start. its turning over and nearly starting, but no. and also white smoke. any help?

ive heard that you might have to reset the injectors? is this true and how do i do it?

Did you do them one at a time to prevent mixing them up?

If they are mixed up you may have problems as they are positional programmed to the ECU. - needs a specialist diagnostic/computer oo-gee-maboo most get it programmed at renault itself.

 

yer, they were done 1 at a time. I had it running, but was running rough, so i changed the fuel filter, now it wont start!

 

Have you primed and bled the fuel filter??

 

Yes, this is an art form with the megane 1.5dci type of feul filter. I hand primed it, bled it then primed more (until reasonable amount of pressure on priming bulb.) Then turn ignition on and attempt to start but let clutch off or turn key back very quickly for a sec or two for about 5 times then go for the big start - it worked for me

well whoever had the car b4 me removed the hand pump, but ive been to buy 1, fitted it, primed and bled the filter, and primed again, still nothing. ive even loosened the union nuts on the injected while cranking it over to see if there is diesel getting to in - needless to say, i got diesel in my eye!

so yer, ive bled and primed the fuel....

 

Disconnect the low presure fuel line going into the high pressure pump - place the end into a container and prime the system until there are no signs of air.
Also try squezzing the primer bulb when the engine is cranking - this helps the fuel pump to self bleed.

WARNING - NEVER EVER - open a high pressure fuel line when the engine is cranking or running - any escaping pressurised fuel has enough force to kill.

Not sure. You have the filter then fuel line going to the injector pump.

 

Is it ok to use Loctite Freeze and Release on the stuck injector i have?

 

I wouldn't personally - they are brittle enough as they are.

Have you come any closer to the fuel delivery? Is it attempting to turn over/spluttering like its almost there?

No joy with the fuel, tried bleeding it again bt stil the same. Its doing exactly as you described

 

Ive given up and rung RAC Home Assist. Will update once theyve been :-(

 

Rac man got it running. Said it was contaminated fuel - not metal. So he draind my tank and put 15L in. Running now, but feels asif its holding back when driving. Ive just put some Redex in too.

 

When i remove these injectors i place them in 4 air tight small plastic bags to prevent contamination of injectors. Get the injector spray pattern ckecked out

 

Well ive thrashed the car down the dual carriageway and its running a dream now!

Moral of the story is dont fall out with family who's party trick is to put stuff in your fuel - d!ck heads

 

Glad its Oki now - you may want to drain off any excess in fuel filter with the bleed nipple.

Unlucky - how much 'foreign liquid' did they put in?

Enough to make it not start, lol. Luckily there wasnt a lot of fuel in it, a tenners worth at the most.
