Hi all,
I have a Renault Clio 2004, 1.5dci and I'm lost on what to do with it. It's showing the P0340 fault code - 'Camshaft Position Sensor A - Bank 1 Circuit Malfunction'.
Purchased it in October, and it drove beautifully for the first two months. But after that, it started flashing up with the electrical fault light mainly when I drove at high speeds. When it popped up, my car felt sluggish - couldn't speed up with any urgency. Took it into the garage, and had the Camshaft position sensor changed... nothing. So I've now changed the MAP sensor and the Air Flow Meter as these faults came up on the fault reader too(?) Behold, it still has the same problem, its fine driving up to 35/40 mph and then anything above that it's incredibly sluggish (almost like there is no power under the accelerator) and the electrical fault light shows up until I slow back down to 40mph. It doesn't have a DPF so can't be that.
It also has a knack of cutting out and losing all power completely when I speed up fast (battery and stop lights come up). I have had the battery checked, and it is fine. The wiring has been checked around the Camshaft circuit - nothing unusual.
Does anybody have any ideas on what could be causing this? Do you suggest a battery change, or Cambelt?
Myself and my garage are extremely puzzled by this so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
