Hi all,

I've had a engine warning light come on and I bought a fault code reader and I've got he following codes. The thing is, I can't find, and neither three mechanics at my local garage can find the EGR valve.

I have the following codes, which I've looked up and linked to.

If anybody could point me in the right direction it would be a great help.

CODE: P0380
Glow plug/heater circuit A
http://www.obd-codes.com/p0380

CODE: P0409
DTC - Exhaust gas re circulation sensor A circuit
http://www.obd-codes.com/p0409

CODE: P0488
DTC - Exhaust gas re circulation throttle control circuit A Range/Performance
No link

There were six error messages, the following three were the same but had the "pd" symbol which means
"Identifies a pending DTC when veiwingDTC's"

Thanks

Andy

Thanks for the very quick reply ours2012

The engine is a G9U, but the rest I cannot find out. There is no engine number on the engine where the handbook says it is.
The van is a Master DCi100 2.5 diesel - year 2007 (which I believe is when euro 3/4 changed over)

Does this give you a bit more infor to work on?

Thanks

Andy

Not really ,,the codes will be ok ,,have a look on t bay ive just looked and you will see where it is located on your engine there is a couple of types if its the expensive one of the two give it a good clean before condemning as this type sticks ,,(have known these blow fuses) as it gets that gunked up

I've had a look and see various different EGR valves, but I can't see where you say you can see where it's located.
If you could post a link to where I can see a picture of where it is on my van at least I will know which one I am looking for.
I've seen some pictures but my EGR is not where shown.
To be honest I'm quite confused now!

could you post a picture of your engine, minus the top cover if fitted, and will point it out to you,,but normally you will find either a corrugated pipe coming from the exhaust manifold going to the egr or a piece of mild steel pipe going to the head if its the electric one fitted inside throttle body ,,can only find 2 fitted to your car ,what i meant was if you look at a picture of the ones for sale, you will know what it looks like then look at your engine and you should be able to see it

I have no experience with this engine but downloaded a manual before it was withdrawn from view. EGR is shown in the front middle of the engine low down. The curved pipe from the exhaust is shown coming round from the right side (looking into the engine bay from front).
