Before i start i have had a look a other forums and this one to see if i can find a thread relating to my problem but i usually get cold start posts when i google relating to cars that are dead on start up, like starter motor or battery.
I have a Renault Clio 1.2 2003 petrol. Runs like a dream, couldnt fault it. But when the weather turns and the temp is 10c and below its a pig to start. Once its has warmed up it start just like normal. When the car is cold not run for a good few hours thats when the trouble starts. It takes a good five minutes to start it, good job i have a good battery. when i turn the key to the position of the starter motor turning and release it seems it wants to fire but it does this now and then turning it over. One time i had to push it down a slope to jump start it as the battery was near dead and it fired up no problem. I have changed the coil pack, changed the crank case sensor, wriggled wires checked battery connectors etc, the imobaliser light on the dash board is working as normal. Something is holding back due to temperature ie a dry circuit or conector in a sensor, something warms up quick so the car works normally. If i had a fuel problem or ignition problem it would most probably show during normal running just after start up. There no coughing or spluttering of smoke etc. Its annoying as it seems its something so trivial holding back. Any sugestions?
