Need to find an engine as soon as possible as it is my work van. Any ideas?

 

Yours is a TDI . ( Turbo diesel injection) WITH rotary fuel pump
The last one you mentioned is common rail (Cdi)


a Non turbo engine, will not accept a turbo..
It will fubar the engine very quickly
So first one no good, second one no good

 

How bad is your engine?
Bent valves are relatively simple, in some ways, no worse then an engine swap.

 

With you all the way, D.D. cylinder head off, repaired and on, maybe 12 hours...............
Engine swap, ... then all parts changed over from original engine, 20 hours.................

 

the vans at the garage, they've quoted £1,200 to rebuild it, and said it would be cheaper if I could find an engine and have them fit it.

It seems quite hard to find one out of an actual master so looking for a fitting engine from another van as my last hope.

Any thoughts, it is a turbo model 8140, would this fit?

It would be sheer ludicrous to try & fit any engine that does not have the same engine code as your own engine. Because if you do this is when your problems start. I would strongly advise you to check this out

The answer I gave to farmers question was to save him some grief & I stand by it 100%. Nothing to do what you say or do. You maybe can correct me on this

I put a Vectra engine into a Saab last year, it's still running fine
