Hi

I have an old Clio II 1.2 16v petrol from 2003 which Im trying to keep alive...

It had some short periodical power losses, and eventually we bought a new Captur.

But after the Clio had stood still for a month I tried to start it and seems the battery died.
Replaced the battery and after 15-20 secs it still couldnt start.

Then looked trough the engine af found this engine sensor which had broke off.

1. which sensor is it?
2. would this be the reason it would not start?
(it feels if it not getting fuel)

I cannot be certain but it looks like the sensor for oil level. When you start the engine you get a message saying oil level ok,well this could be the sensor i think.Maybe if it cannot detect oil level,it may be telling ecu not to let fuel through.Only a guess mind as i dont know whats on the other end of the sensor as i have not taken mine out.

Davey, think you're right, it must be the oil level sensor.

If it cuts fuel when disconnected I dont know but could be the case.

Dacingdad, I have'nt taken it apart yet, but the pic from ebay could be this one, the top looks the same.

thanks for your replys.

if some one else know for sure it cuts oil or not please let me know, but I will try to get the part, and then I will report back.
