Also it was really over reving badly, seems to be ticking over better now but still got the toxic fume light on.

 

So would the small temporary electric fault/ ignition been enough to cause the toxic light to come on and being as the ignition fault light has gone off can I expect the toxic one to go out too ?

Your going to need to get a diagnostic for this one..it can be so many things..have you got any odd smells like rotten eggs? give the car a good italian tune up to see if that clears the cat of any unburnt fuel..the cat can be one reason why the light is on..lambda's could be another electrics getting wet in the under body fuse box ..throttle body needs cleaning is another..car going into limp might happen next..sorry to be the bearer of bad news..you need the codes before much else is done..

 

I've heard a few people mention limp mode what exactly is it ? And its running absolutely fine now just still got the light on

 

I have got a theory lol could it be with the 5 min electrical fault this caused one of my plugs not to spark allowing fuel through to the exhaust system putting the toxic fume light on and its staying on because some is still there.

 

Yes according to my handbook the toxic fume warning mainly implies a fuel mixture problem, thus making naughty exhaust gases, could be caused by dirty air filter, bad spark plug(s), maybe you could have a duff coil pack, which is a fave on Clios apparently.

 

In my service history its already had a new coil pack, but I don't suppose it will hurt to change the air filter and spark plugs

 

Didnt you just do both of those..I remember you asking about the airfilter..

Nah Phil I was going to fit a pipercross filter but when I eventually took the air box off it didn't fit so I've kept the original one. I've had no symptoms or issues to look at sparkplug replacement only the issue yesterday with the ignition fault light causing the toxic light. What's your opinion on the above substance

 

I wouldnt bother spending on that... you need to find the root of the problem. As Phil said may be best to get a diagnostic done..

 

Yesterday just CU's I had some I put half a bottle of redex in my tank it had been sitting under my cupboard for months lol. Went for a drive 15 mins latter light goes out and has stayed out.

 

Keeping fingers crossed it stays out for you..:d
