Panoramic sunroof intermittent

Evening everyone!

I have noticed very recently that my electric panoramic sunroof is very intermittent, quite frustrating!

When I open it, it is very slow to open, but when I go to close the sunroof, it staggers to the end and sometimes goes back to where it originally was!

I have tried WD40 as it hadn't been open in a while, but this didn't make a difference.

I tried opening closing whilst at a stand still and whilst driving, I have a 2006 Clio III.

Hope someone can help!

This behaviour is, as you seem to have sussed, one of Lubrication. It took me a while to realise where to squirt the grease (motorcycle chain grease). This I believe is your fault. The reversing is a safety feature, just in case your brat sticks their hand in whilst closing. If the tracks are full of dried grease, then the roof will think there is an obstruction & reverse.
Find time to reinvestigate, mine wasn't completely cured until I changed the well worn plaggy sliders. Don't know if Clio ones are the same as Scenic, I found some on eBay from Leicester or Turkey, guess which I bought? There is a thread somewhere which gave me the answer.

I will definitely have to have a closer look at this, and will have to get some chain grease I assume it's better than WD40!

You mentioned the sliders, are they the rails they slide on?
