Where is VIN number physically stamped onto Renault Scenic chassis?

Hi,

I am in the process of having my UK car re-registered in Spain. It is a Renault Scenic Dynamique 1.9 DCi 130. I have to provide 3 pencil-and-paper etchings of the VIN number that is physically stamped onto the chassis. (Really! This is not a joke!) The plastic sticker on the door post and the number in the windscreen are not sufficient evidence. I have looked and looked but cannot find it. The owners' manual for the vehicle does not tell me where to locate it.

Please can some kind soul tell me where it is?

have a look for a flap down the side of the drivers seat many cars had it there also on the bulkhead under the bonnet

Thanks for your answer Ron. I can't see a flap by the driver's seat nor anything under the bonnet... unless it's underneath something else.

Have a look under the bonnet on the drivers side (right) where the front shock absorber is mounted.

Mine's there.

Mine is also there(suspension turret drivers side) I think,but its partially obscured by seam joint sealant . I can only see half of it.

Thanks for trying to help everyone. The suspension turret is way back almost under the windscreen and not accessible without removal of quite a lot of plastic! It turns out the VIN number is stamped on a metal fold near the front of the engine bay on the drivers side between the coolant reservoir and the windscreen wash reservoir, hidden by 3 pipes which pass over it. Designers do like to make things easy and straightforward, don't they?!

Don't they just, it's pity they don't get the problems that us, ordinary mortals have.
