Hi, Im looking for some expert advice - Please help...

Our 2012 1.5 DCi 110 Grand Scenic lll broke down the other day due to a battery failure. The breakdown recovery attended and managed to get the engine started with a booster pack but then it died again and he was unable to get the engine to turn over again.

I have replaced the battery but the car will still not turn over, I have been advised by a mechanic that there is a good possibility that the starter motor fuse or relay has blown due to the power of the booster pack used.

I have checked all the fuses i can find in the 3 fuse boxes (glove box and the 2 next to the battery) but cannot find a blown fuse. Is there anyone who can offer some advice please on where i might find the possibly failed fuse/relay please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi, many thanks for your response and advice. I have taken a look at the battery and all around the compartment but i cannot find anything that vaguely looks like the fusible link you refer to. Does my car definitely have them?

Hi,

As always many thanks for taking time to offer advice. Here is a photo of 1 of the fuse boxes under the bonnet. The orientation of this fuse box in the car is battery to the left and window screen to the top - do you think the yellow 20A fuse is for the starter?

I am aware there is a large (White) 80A fuse missing from the fuse box but this was taken out at the time the photo was taken.

The only other option is a fuse box/electronics board above (towards the wind screen) in the bonnet, this is a lot more awkward to access as it is inverted and movement is restricted due to the cabelling. Have i been looking in the wrong location for the fuse?

Regards

I know the fuse box you are describing, it is the 1 i mentioned in a previous post with limited access. Very awkward to get to the fuses due to the length of the wiring.
I shall have a look tomorrow and report how i get on.
Many thanks for your help. ***x1f44d;
