no rear light nearside rear. 93 clio

hello all, pain in the ass of a problem, i have no rear nearside light. brake light, hazard,indicator,reverse all work. swapped bulb for a good one, still no joy. checked all fuses, they seem fine..
any ideas ?
also dash display is not working, was only working on a couple until recently,now nothing..
changes all them bulbs to no evail..
is this related?
are there any relays that might need changing?

Is there any signs of water ingress which could be causing a short - a fairly common problem on rear light clusters and not just Renaults. Check the cluster unit for signs of corrosion, etc. It may also help if you removed all the bulbs from the offending unit and then introduce one bulb at a time and see what happens - that may help you narrow down the problem.:)

Had a very similar problem you describe on my Laguna II, loss of dash lights and N/S lights. In the end I had to call in an auto electrician to find the problem.
Turned out a bunch of wires had 'fused' together near the fuse board and were shorting out. I would check there first.
