Hi, i currently own a renault clio mk2 and have ir remote locking & i have tried to pair the key to the car but have been unsucesfull.

I am wondering if anyone know's where the main control unit is located so i can disconnect and install another remote locking unit.

I can see load of wires coming from my door inside going upto the dashboard and am wondering if it is in the driver door or if that is just the solenoid.

Hope someone helps

thanks

My apologies. Right couple of things to ask first and for you to check. Does the button on centre console lock all your doors from inside?
Also, take the driver side door trim off and have a look if the locking mechanism bar has come off or indeed the plastic retaining clip hasn't broken off.

Hi,

Yes The C/L Button Inside Works Fine And Locks All Doors Fine And The Driver Door Locks Fine I Am Trying To Find The C/L Unit As I Belive I Can Buy A Remote Locking Kit So I Can Change The Unit Without Having To Change All The Door Locks etc.

Thanks

The unit is located under the left hand side of the dash, (The passenger foot well area) and is part of the multi timer unit. If you have a Haynes manual it's in there 12.5. It says "Note that once removed, the immoboliser, remote control, engine configuration, etc will all need reprogramming, if this is not done correctly it will prevent the vehicle from starting. Because of the specialised equipment required, this may have to be entrusted to your local Renault dealer".

There are 2 types as well.

Good luck.
