Hi there, very interested in your cruise control fitment, but if you fit just fit the renault bought switch is it still possible to use the cruise or is the modified switch a necessity?Any info would be brilliant,
not been on here for a fair while.. you need to have the switch to turn it on and off but also a control to control the functions speed up slow down recall and cancel.. you can just buy these buttons from renault, i still have my home made control and would happily sell it as ive changed to the renault buttons..

Hi Folks,
1st off to the OP, a great find!!!
And an excellent little how to! I'm just about to wire this into my Coupe Cabrio and save some cash on the M'way miles :)
I just have 1 question, after its all wired in, what is the procedure to enable the CC Display ?
I will be getting a mechanic mate to do it(using Laptop and OBD connector), but I just want to know is there a specific menu or subset he needs to go to?
Just to save me some time ;)

Folks, I have this modification nearly finished :)
I have the CC switch installed, I have the resistors/stalk all wired up and the steering wheel surround modded for the stalk mount.
But i am having 1 little problem that is probably ridiculously simple but I dont want to just power into in case I mess it up!

How do I remove the cover behind the steering wheel?
I have removed and modded the housing immediately behind the steering wheel, but the cover over the socket that I need to attach the 2 wires to?
Ho do I gain access to this?
Do I need to remove the entire steering wheel?
Any help appreciated on this one :/
Thanks

Did you just add the buttons to your exsiting wheel and were they plug and play like the on/off switch?

To get the Steering column cowling off there are 2 to 4 T25/27 Torx screws clamping the two halfs together. have a look at teh underneath and you should find the holes they are located in.

if you have the connetors already fitted on the loom, just plug the cc/sl switch in and flick it on and the lights should come on automatically on the dash. if they do, then its simply a job of either doing the above mods or, swapping steering wheel(inc cc/sl controls), column neck with connector spool, accelerator pedal(with kick-down override), switches in control panel.

Hi, would this mod work on the Megane CC, also could you give some pics of the items i would need to add the steering wheel with the CC/SL buttons on it.

Thanks
Martin

I can't find the plugs on mine, but when I put the car into test mode (when all the lights flash, speedo, rev and other gauges go through the motions) the cruise control light also lights up... does this mean I'm not looking for the plugs hard enough or would these light up in test mode anyway (as does the ESP).

PS, once in test mode, how do you get back out? I've tried this twice now and both time I've just had to let it get on with it until it came out by itself after 10 mins or so!

Gret thread, just what I was looking for..

However, on my 05/55 Grand Scenic Dci Priv, I don't appear to have the connector for the cruise "on/off" switch, ie the one on the same panel as the instrument dimmer/headlight adjust..

Does this mean I don't have the facility to fit this?

Mike

Hi , first of all thanks for all effords. I can get the big picture but there's a point that i cannot understand.

As shown in the table ,

but it's not clear for me that 3 resistors wired to white speaker cable , and the other cable to red cable.

like this;

which is true actually.

This is the matter that i can't solve. Helps will appreciated. Have a nice day!

i got a steering of a megane airbag inc with cc controls and i just swapped them on my cc and all works . it is better on motorway :d

thanks joe
Were the two steering wheels basically the same? for instance could the cruisecontrol switches and shaped airbag be fitted to the standard noncruise steering wheel. I am just looking at the options for a retro fit on my CC, now that I know the connector is behind the dash.

Yeah the steerin wheels are the same, just the different airbag and addition of the buttons, which should fit on any wheel.
Just a quick follow on question, the connections for the steering wheel buttons; are they already in place behind the airbag or will there be another connector lurking somewhere nearby.
